The suspicious package leads to evacuation of places: 

Police tell Vancouver’s Marine Drive SkyTrain Station and nearby firms have been vacated due to a suspect package.

A Metro Vancouver Transit Police representative told officers were called about 7:45 p.m. PT Tuesday regarding a package at the station.

Officers arrived at the station and evacuated it and nearby businesses. They have shut the station.

A sniffer dog and handler have been deployed, police stated, as has the Vancouver Police Department, explosive disposal crew.

Suspicious package found near Vancouver

The transit police representative stated that the explosive disposal department was set to dispose of the package at about 10:30 p.m. PT on Tuesday.

However, the spokesperson emphasized that this does not ensure the package is a bomb and that further probe would be needed to decide precisely what it had.

A TransLink spokesperson stated there had been no damages due to the happening.

TransLink stated on Twitter that trains are still going through the station but not halting there.
