Traffic moves once more on the Sea-to-Sky Highway after a two-vehicle collision shut the corridor for almost five hours Tuesday night.
Highway 99 was closed down in both paths halfway between Squamish and West Vancouver soon before 5 p.m. P.T. The road opened at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Squamish RCMP stated a “severe accident” involving two vehicles occurred approximately eight kilometers south of Porteau Cove, and officers were on site at about 4:50 p.m. Source – cbc.ca
Photos taken at the location show a minivan with significant front-end impairment and a sports car that seems to have been destroyed in flames.

According to a release from Squamish RCMP broadcasted at 5 p.m., the two drivers were taken to hospital with unspecified but no severe wounds.
However, about 8 p.m., B.C. Emergency Health Services informed CBC News that five paramedic units reacted and that the two patients were severe.
An air ambulance and an Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Team were also deployed, stated BCEHS, which rules the B.C. Ambulance Service.
