The Canadian Red Cross states any British Columbians may have had difficulty reaching their support line due to a big volume of requests.

The Red Cross and the region of British Columbia have partnered to award $2,000 to British Columbians who were commanded to evacuate their houses from Nov. 14 to 16 due to flooding. This is an extension to the Disaster Financial Assistance funding declared earlier.

To obtain these supports, abandoned British Columbians require to join with the Red Cross by calling 1-800-863-6582, within 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. PT.

But many, like Beth Goulet-Hillier who was emptied of Merritt on Nov. 15, have had difficulty reaching the hotline.

It got her eight hours to join the Red Cross by phone, only to leave her most essential information like her name and location. She states she still has no plan if or when she will get some support funds.
