Recent COVID-19 public health constraints come into result Monday in British Columbia amongst a rise in cases caused by the Omicron variant.
Rules were declared on Friday afternoon by Provincial Health Officer Dr Bonnie Henry and will stay in position till Jan. 31.
They include the revocation of scheduled New Year’s Eve events and sports games, as well as limitations on indoor meetings.
Indoor meetings will be restricted to family members plus 10 guests, or one other household — as long as everyone over the age of 12 is completely vaccinated.

“We need to take these steps until we understand the full effect Omicron will have in the B.C. context,” Henry stated on Friday.

Henry also declared that the region will be footing up scanning of vaccine QR codes to create certain evidence of vaccination is assured in all settings.
She also advised dealers to have COVID-19 security plans in position for Boxing Day and vacation shopping events.
